Gr7 Homework & TEST. BOTH groups!!

We have reached a point in the material I feel it's a good time for a test.

I'd like both groups to begin review of all topics studied from the start of the year: 
 - Characteristics of living things,
 - Water cycle
 - Organization of ecosystems( species, population, community and niche ).

The 03's had a supply teacher on Thursday, so I wasn't able to announce a quiz on our most recent topic:  Organization in ecosystems, so I may or may not try to fit it in before the test.

I plan on giving the test late this coming week( Sept 30th to Oct 4th ), before we get too deep into our next topic.

*Whoops!  Looks like I've already decided on a date for the 01 group( see post below ), so we'll set a date for the 03's too - Thursday, Oct 3rd.

Gr7 Homework & TEST - 01 group

Please complete question 1 on page 93   &   question3 on page 94 for next class( Friday, 27th Sept ).

There will be a quiz on Ecosystem Organization( the last notes )on Wednesday, 2nd October.

There will be a test on Ecology( all topics covered since the start of classes )on Friday, 4th October.

The students are to complete pages 80 - 81 in their workbook for tomorrow's class( Thursday, 26th Sept. )

Gr8 Homework - TEST!

I will be giving a test on Thursday, 26th September.

This is short notice, but hopefully will be offset by the limited number of topics that will be on the test.

Students are responsible for the following topics:  Atoms, molecules, elements( *compounds ), John Dalton's atomic model, molecular formulae and the periodic table.

Gr7 Homework - 01 group

The class is to complete pages 90 - 91 in the workbook.

This will be checked for completion and corrected next class( Wednesday, 25th September ).

Gr8 Homework

Students are to complete pages 22 - 23 in their workbook.  This will be checked and corrected next class( Tuesday, 24 Sept. ).

There will be a quiz on the Periodic Table that class as well.

Gr7 Homework - 03 group

This group is to complete the "Water Cycle Experiment" writeup if it was not completed in  class on Tuesday.

The next class is cancelled due to the Terry Fox Run on Thursday a.m.

The next time we see each other will be Wednesday, 25th Sept.  That's 8 whole days away so don't forget your homework!

In addition, I will quiz you on the Water Cycle on that day.  Study your notes, go over the note pages & questions in the workbook( pages 172 - 175 ).

Gr 8 Homework - Periodic Table Tiles

Students were assigned two atoms / elements from the Periodic Table.

They were to draw "tiles" for each of them to help me create a Periodic Table on a bulletin board in my classroom.

Students can continue working on their assigned tiles and do more in tomorrow's class.
